These Tech CEOs are Stinking Rich and Eligible Bachelors

The only thing cooler than earning money would be getting more money. Money and fame never usually come for free, but the world of technology has proved this notion wrong, especially for the young.


Here are some tech entrepreneurs who have everything- they are filthy rich, smoking hot and are very eligible bachelors.


1. Blake Alan Ross- Mozilla Firefox


Age: 26


This American software developer started the Mozilla Firefox project along with Dave Hyatt. He was one of the techies on the Rolling Stone magazine's 2005 hot list, and is evaluated at $150 million dollars. Thanks to him, web browsing has seen a gargantuan boom with a success story made in the free, open source platform as of January 2012, Firefox had approximately 25 percent of worldwide usage share of web browsers



2. Naveen Selvadurai- Foursquare


Age: 28


Prior to co-founding foursquare with Dennis Crowley, Selvadurai was Lead Architect at Socialight and a Senior Software Architect at Sony Music Entertainment. He has also worked with work with Lucent, Nokia and Sun Microsystems in the past. Tamilian by birth, Selvadurai is worth about $80,000,000. He is reported to be leaving Foursquare this month.





3. Arash Ferdowsi- Drop Box


Age: 26


This Iranian-American entrepreneur co-founded Dropbox, a cloud storage startup in 2007 with fellow MIT student Drew Houston. Ferdowsi dropped out of college to focus on business. His networth is said to be $400 million. In spite of growing competition, Houston and Ferdowsi’s project has been constantly growing -- 300 million files are saved to Dropbox every 24 hours, which is more than the number of tweets posted to Twitter in the same timeframe. Ferdowsi is an avid Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) player.




4. David Karp- Tumblr


Age: 25


Karp founded Tumblr, the microblogging platform and social networking site in 2007. 2010 saw him named as one of MIT’s 35 innovators under the age of 35. What is interesting about this young techie is the fact that when he was 17, he moved himself to Japan and earned his living while working as a CTO for a company based in New York! He’s worth $40 million in funding, and although it’s not a huge number compared to the rest, this energetic entrepreneur deserves his place on this list. And although he has a girlfriend (i.e. goal-keeper) named Rachel Eakley, doesn’t mean one can’t try scoring goals, right?


5. Dustin Moskovitz- Facebook, Path


Age: 27


Moskovitz was credited with being the world’s youngest billionaire after co-founding Facebook with Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Savarin, and Chris Hughes. He left Facebook in 2008 to found Asana, a “collaborative information manager” that one can use on the internet.  His net worth is said to be $7.6 billion through a stake of 7.6 percent in Facebook.



6. Matthew Charles Mullenweg- Wordpress


Age: 28


This 28 year old billionaire is best known for his development of Wordpress, the free and open-source web software that is used by around 15 percent of the internet and is managed by the WordPress foundation now. He is also a musician, having learned to play the saxophone and the keyboard. His net worth stands at $40 million.







7. Sean Parker- Napster


Age: 33


This 33 year old American technology entrepreneur is credited with being the co-founder of Napster, and was most recently the Founding President of Facebook. He is worth $2.1 billion and is considered to be a genius in spite of the lack of a formal education. He was accustomed to hacking as he was a child, one interesting incident from his life had him hacking into a Fortune 500 company when he was 16. Unfortunately his dad unplugged the computer and he was unable to log out. He was tracked down by the FBI, and was sentenced to community service.


8. Jack Dorsey


Age: 35


This software architect from the US is most famous for his creation of Twitter, the social network that focuses on microblogging. He too was on MIT’s TR35 list of innovators. He’s estimated to be worth $490 million.











9. Yoshikazu Tanaka- Gree


Age: 35


Tanaka founded Gree in 2004, which is now Japan's largest social networking site. . He started out at Sony, and then moved on to work for Hiroshi Mikitani (the billionaire founder of online shopping site Rakuten). His worth is estimated to be $2.2 billion, and he’s reported to have his sights set on building a Gree office in California’s SiliconValley. Should  Zuckerberg watch out? Only time will tell.


10. Kevin Rose


Age: 35


Rose co-founded Digg (a popular news website that competes with reddit), Revision3 (an Internet television network that creates, produces and distributes web television shows), Pownce (a micro-blogging and file-sharing site), and Milk (a company that aims to solve problems of the mobile web, according to TechCrunch).







11. Teddy Sagi


Age: 39


Apart from being the founder of gaming site Playtech, Sagi who is 39, also owns several e-commerce services, an e-payment company, instant messenger service Messenger Plus and commercial real estate and a number of hotels in Europe. He reportedly bought the most expensive home in Israel in December for about $35 million. His net worth is about $1.2 billion.
